40 Days of Purpose- Day 2
Such good stuff! Day 2 of the Purpose Driven Life- by Rick Warren. You are not an accident! This is necessary for some of us to be reminded of. If you have low self-esteem or feel less than, or feel like you don’t have a purpose in this life. God does not create mistakes. You are not a mistake, you are not an accident. God made you on purpose by bringing your parents together and created you with the specific DNA that you have to make YOU! Just think about that. No matter who your parents are, whether they are good or bad parents or whether they are still together or not… YOU were made with purpose and intention. Even if your parents weren’t planning on having you, God created you. He made you. If God didn’t want you to exist, He would not have created you.
What I got the most out of this chapter was the fact that God made me, to love me. Let me repeat that. God made me, to love me! Wow, let that sink into your heart. You were created so that God could love you. This really changes my perspective. It helps me to see and to know that God loves me unconditionally no matter what. It doesn’t matter what I do or don’t do, it doesn’t matter what I look like, or who I am. God loves me because He created me. I feel so loved. I have struggled with feeling God’s love in my life at times. Maybe you have to? If you have, I understand. Let’s put that behind us and just live our lives loved! Knowing that God’s love for us will never change. Psalm 139:14- says that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God loves us! He has the very hairs on our head numbered. Matthew 10:30 and verse 31 talks about how we are of more value than many sparrows.
If you have been listening to the lies of the devil that you are unloveable for whatever reason or that you have no purpose and meaning in this life, it is time to give those lies to God and believe the truth of His Word. It will absolutely change your life when you realize and know that you are loved by God.
Make a list of the things that you think make you unloveable or unaccepted by God. Write it all down and then rip it up and throw it out because God loves you in spite of things you have done or in spite of what has been done to you. Just because other people haven’t loved you right and haven’t treated you like they should does not change God’s love for you. He died for us while we were yet sinners. He knows everything about us and chooses to love us anyway.
Let’s accept and dwell in that love that God has for us. We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19. It is time to rest in that love.
