40 Days of Purpose-Day 5
Seeing life from God’s point of view. If we really stop to consider what this looks like it will change our perspective on life. Just think about it… if I could see my life from God’s eyes, I would not doubt what He is doing. I would be able to see things clearly. I know that I cannot see through God’s eyes in reality, but I can change my perspective and view things how He does.
For example, I am currently in a battle with my health. In the last year, I have been diagnosed with two vestibular disorders and chronic fatigue syndrome. I also just had x-rays done and I have osteoarthritis in my shoulder and in my foot. I can get totally discouraged and live in defeat that I am in pain and often fatigued and off-balance daily. However, if I choose to look at this from God’s perspective, I know that He has a purpose for all of this. He has allowed it into my life for a reason. Do I totally know that reason? No, I don’t! But I do know that God loves me and that He only allows things into my life for a purpose. What good has come out of this? Well, as I have been forced to rest, I created this blog. Hoping and praying that it will be an encouragement to someone out there. I have had time to slow down and really hear from the Lord about what He wants me to do with my life. For now, I know that is writing about Him and sharing my stories with others.
How can you see your life and the circumstances in your life from God’s perspective? How can you allow that to change how you view the hard times in your life?
Everything that comes into our life is to build character. It is to make us more like Christ. As Christians that should be a goal of ours is to be more and more like our Savior. Not to compare ourselves to others, but to compare ourselves to Christ and to grow from there. God loves us so much that He wants us to grow.
Life is a test. James 1:12- “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
At times tests can be tough. If we understand that our trials in life are a test that God is allowing us to go through to change us for the better, we can go through these tests differently. Sure, we can get upset or angry that we are going through a hard time or we can ask God to show us what He wants us to learn from it and help us to have a good attitude, even in the hard times.
How will you respond to the circumstances of your life today? I hope that you will view things through God’s eyes and that you will be reminded just how much God loves you! He created you to love you!
