Accepting Acceptance ~ Part 2
If you haven’t read Part 1 click at the bottom of this post to read!
Imagine that you are sitting all alone. Maybe you are in a crowd of people and you are all alone. Maybe you are literally alone. As you sit there, imagine that someone comes up to you and says I choose to be your friend, I choose to walk along side of you no matter what you are going through. I choose to be there for you through all of the good in your life and all of the bad. I choose to cry with you to laugh with you and to always and forever be there for you!
This is what the Lord is telling you. He is committed to being there for us. He will never leave us or forsake us, as we read in Hebrews 13:5. What a promise we can claim!
Now imagine this... what if you were friends with someone who you could not trust, they never kept their promises to you and they constantly hurt you. They never took time for you and really didn't care about you at all. Would you feel accepted by them? Of course not.
Christ is the opposite of all of those things I mentioned. He loves us, He cares, He listens, He has proven time and time again that He can be trusted. Not only can He be trusted in our life, but we can see this in the lives of others. God does have a really good track record, wouldn't you say?
The best thing is that God accepts us 100%! When you are feeling alone and not accepted by others, don't ever forget that you have Someone by your side who is always there for you and loves and accepts you! Take some time and just talk to God today, maybe even right now, pause as you read this. Let Him know how much you need Him and tell Him what’s on your heart. it is so important to just get honest with God. Don’t hold back. God can handle our feelings.
Wouldn’t you say that Satan is good at what he does? As mentioned in the first post, he is a liar! I honestly hate to give him any credit at all, but really, he is good at lying. He will always lie to us. He will tell you that you are alone, no one cares, no one accepts you. He will even tell you that God doesn't love and accept you or care about you. The question is who are you going to believe? Satan? or God? The God who gave His Son to die for your sins, the God who gave everything for you? Or will you believe Satan and his lies who has done nothing for you, but hurt you? John 8:44, "... because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it."
I challenge you to focus on Christ and His acceptance of you. He loves you! He has chosen you, He cares for you, and He accepts you. Ephesians 1:4, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:"
Do you feel accepted by Christ? By others? What has helped you to have victory in this area?
I encourage you to make a list. Write down all of the ways that God accepts you and all of the ways that others have shown they accept you. Writing always helps and seeing on paper or in a digital format how you are truly accepted can be a great reminder of the truth. Copy down the above Scriptures or find some of your own that speak to your heart. Go ahead, go get that journal now and start writing. Believe the truth today and choose to stop listening to the lies of Satan. You will be so glad you did!
